GERMAN WWI (Imperial) BAYONETS
German 1898/05 (Butcher) 1st and 2nd Pattern Plain Bayonet (Ref1,No.1,page86, Ref3,ABC463/464,page309) Rarity: R1+
bulletnew-sign.gif (938 bytes)  1st pattern with high ears and no flashguard, made by Erfurt and dated 1908 for Prussia.  Wood grips has chip missing on right side with patina on the handle.  Crossguard marked '5.T.1.143'.  Nice blade with some peppering last 4" towards tip with field sharpening.  Leather scabbard marked '7.T.2.109' with all stitches intact.   Scabbard has shrunk about 1/8".  Rare Telegraph troops marked bayonet.

bulletnew-sign.gif (938 bytes)  1st pattern with high ears and no flashguard, made by Haenel and dated 1915 for Prussia.  Nice dark wood grips with patina on the handle.  Crossguard wartime marked 'J.R.16.659'.  Dark stained blade with no sharpening.  Leather scabbard with no regimental markings with all stitches intact.  Scabbard has shrunk about 1/8".  Rare wartime regimentally marked bayonet.

bulletnew-sign.gif (938 bytes)  1st pattern with high ears and flashguard (rare transitional model), made by Erfurt and dated 1909 for Prussia.  Nice dark wood grips with patina on the handle.  Crossguard wartime marked '16.A.F.4.185'.  Nice blade with staining marks and light field sharpening.  Leather scabbard with no regimental markings and marked '1618' on the throat with patina on the fittings with all stitches intact.  Rare transitional field artillery marked bayonet.
