Made by Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co, Solingen (WKC).  Very nice alloy grips with 'RA' (Republic of Argentina) in a circle on the pommel and scabbard.  Argentina crest and serial number has been ground off.  Very nice fullered blade.  Metal scabbard with over 90% finish remaining with old cosmoline overall.

AUSTRALIA

Australian 1944 Owens SMG Mk 1 Bayonet  (Ref1,No.2,page5, Ref3,ABC134,page105) bayonet4-811.jpg (102899 bytes) (closeup) (closeup) (closeup) Rarity: R2+
Korean War period model made by MA (Mangrovite) and dated 1 '52.  Excellent wood grips marked Slaz 51.  Excellent fullered blade with about 95% bluing remaining.  Excellent leather scabbard marked MA 52.  Only about 45k bayonets were made.

AUSTRIA

Austrian 1867/73 Shortened Sword Bayonet (Ref1,No.2,page7, Ref3,ABC854,page234)  bayonet4-202.jpg (85832 bytes) (closeup) (closeup) Rarity: R2
Made by F.A.H. (F.A. Herder) with Austrian eagle and GF inspection marking on the ricasso.  Regimentally marked 84.R.4756 on the quillion.  Very nice checkered leather grips with leaf spring release.  Very nice shortened sword blade with no sharpening.  Metal scabbard with about 90% black paint remaining.

BELGIUM

Belgium 1868 Terssen Carbine Bayonet (Ref1,No.2,page16) bayonet2-509.jpg (58625 bytes) (closeup) (closeup) (closeup) Rarity: R2+
Very similar to the French 1866 Chassepot bayonet except that this piece has a more rounded pommel and the leaf spring is secured by a screw versus a rivet.  Marked with inspection marking and 1869 date on the blade ricasso with matching serial number 3764 on the crossguard and scabbard top fitting.  Very nice fullered yataghan blade with some staining and no sharpening.  Excellent leather scabbard with brass fittings.

Nice wood grips held by two spanner nuts with corrosion on the handle and crossguard.  Fullered blade with staining and light sharpening.  Metal scabbard with areas of heavy corrosion with dented finale.  Matching serial numbers H 2489 on the crossguard and frog stud.  Very scarce bayonet which is hard to find.

BRAZIL

Brazilian 1904 Mauser Bayonet (Ref1,No.4,page22, Ref3,ABC368,page251) bayonet1-905.jpg (56746 bytes) (closeup) (closeup) (closeup) Rarity: R2+
Made in Brazil by 'F.P.D.F' (Force Publique du District Federal) and has Brazilian coat of arms stamped on the blade.  Worn wood grips held by two rivets and has a serial number 3164 on the crossguard.  No scabbard.  This was the last yataghan bayonet ever made and was issued to the National Police Force.

CHINA

Rare Chinese state security forces knife.  Has Chinese star and serial number D82985 on blade.  Excellent condition overall and comes with original box from the 1980s.  Listed in 'The Military Knife & Bayonet' by Homer Brett, this unique item was produced in small numbers & most were destroyed by the Chinese government.  The blade is pulled out by pressing the release button near the end of the handle.  The knife is closed by inserting the cap & spring into the knife opening and pushing the front button to release the blade.  It hangs on the belt so the user can easily take it out ready to use.

DENMARK

new-sign.gif (938 bytes)  Not maker marked.  Nice wood grips held by two brass rivets.  Pommel marked 6.B.463 and serial numbered 106511 on the crossguard.  Nice T-backed blade.  Leather scabbard which is missing the lower steel fitting.  From Vet estate and has never been cleaned with dark patina overall.

Made by Long Branch (about 910k were made) for the Lee Enfield rifle.  Has some black paint on the sides of socket.  No scabbard.

This bayonet has a blade similar to the Jungle No. 5 bayonet and a socket hilt similar to the No. 4 series.  Made by Poole with matching serial numbers 324503 on the socket and scabbard.  Very nice fullered bright blade with blued socket and black painted metal scabbard.  Poole made about 366K bayonets from 1949-1953.

new-sign.gif (938 bytes)  Very nice 1st pattern model with non-removable handle.  Very nice alloy handle with hooked qullion with some light staining.  Very nice 4-sided blade.  Metal scabbard with most of the original finish remaining.  Bayonet is slightly loose inside the scabbard.  Matching numbers on the crossguard and scabbard belt band '85531'.

Excellent black plastic handle with a muzzle ring on the pommel and the crossguard.  Excellent longer model double sided black parkerized blade.  The bottom of the crossguard is marked with E next to 'HF' in a circle.  The scabbard is marked 'E-RM' which stands for Establishment Regional du Materiel'. Excellent black parkerized metal scabbard with green leather belt frog.  This model was made from 1956 until it was redesigned in 1958 (with about 40,000 made) with a shorter blade  when it was felt that the blade was too fragile due to the long false edge.

Japanese 1897 Type 30 Bayonet (#115Johnsons & #110Johnsons - typical examples, Ref3,ABC489/491/492/493, page327)   Rarity: R1+
Made by Nagoya.  Nice slab wood grips held by screws with blued metal finish on handle with some patina with hooked quillion with faint serial number on end of bird beak style pommel.  Very nice blued fullered blade with some light sharpening.  Metal scabbard style with ball finale.  Scarce maker.

Similar to the standard type 30 bayonet except that the crossguard is a thick rectangular piece of metal that is rounded off at muzzle ring end.  Made by Toyada Automatic Loom Works.  Very nice slab wood grips which are riveted with a squared off pommel which has a serial number 4358.  Rectangular blued crossguard with rounded muzzle ring.  Very nice blued unfullered slab blade with no sharpening.  Nice blued metal scabbard with a crease on the back side.  Rare model variation.

The blade is from a Dutch 1895 Cavalry bayonet with a Japanese handle with thin crossguard and muzzle ring. Excellent wood handle held by two rivets with about 75% blued finish remaining.  Excellent double edged unfullered blued blade with about 95% finish remaining.  Matching arsenal markings on the handle and scabbard.  Excellent leather scabbard with leather retaining strap.  This is a very hard bayonet to find especially in this near unissued condition.

MEXICO

Mexican Fighting Knife (No reference) Rarity: R2
new-sign.gif (938 bytes)  Probably made in the 1960-1970s.  No maker marks.  Very nice hardwood handle and brass crossguard.  Very nice double edged stilleto style blade.  Very nice carved leather sheath and belt attachment.  Measures 12.5" overall with a 7.25" blade.  Very well made and heavy.

new-sign.gif (938 bytes)  Made by Hembrug.  Excellent wood grips with about 90% finish remaining on the handle.  Pommel is marked with serial number 059 with crown over z inspection marking on the blade and scabbard throat has matching serial number 059.  Excellent T-shaped blade with about 95% blued finish remaining with no sharpening.  Very nice artillery style leather scabbard with 'AI' inspection marking on the front.  Very rare to find in this condition and with matching serial numbers.

NEW ZEALAND

1880-81 modified model (called the Artillery 2nd pattern) made by Enfield and dated 9 '81.  Nice hard rubber grips held by 4 rivets with a piece of rubber missing on the left grip.   Serial numbered '27' on the crossguard.  Nice fullered sawback blade with peppering overall and light sharpening.  Very nice leather scabbard with some crazing overall.  Only 2100 were made.

PERU

Peruvian 1909 Quillback Bayonet (Ref1, No.1, page 156) Rarity: R2+

Horster.  Very nice wood grips with Peruvian crest on the end of the pommel.  Handle has about 50% of its original bright finish on the handle.  Very nice fullered quillback blade with no sharpening.  Very nice leather scabbard with metal fittings.  Matching number 27118 on the crossguard and the frog stud.

Made by Perkun with W.P. on the other side of blade.  No muzzle ring and no WZ marking on pommel and with a flashguard. Excellent fullered blade with no sharpening.  Blade marked 99012.  Excellent blued Polish scabbard with 51907 on throat.

Made by F. B. Radom on the right side and Polish eagle and '1939' underneath on left side.  Very nice wood grips held by two screws with no muzzle ring (removed during the German occupation) with about 75% bluing remaining.  Very nice blade with about 90% bluing remaining with no sharpening.  German marked with an inspection proof (Waffenampt eagle over 77) on the top spine of the blade.  German 98k metal scabbard made by E. Pack dated 1939 with serial number 5605g.

RUSSIA

Russian 1895 Winchester Short Bayonet (ABC129,page100) 120-337.jpg (194446 bytes) (closeup) (closeup) Rarity: R4
A very rare short 1895 model was made which looks like a US 1895 Lee model (~10,000 were made but were not accepted by the Russians).  The 7.62mm rifle was produced for Russia and a 6mm Winchester rifle was made for the US.  Very nice wood grips and bottom of crossguard is marked 'Winchester Repeating Arms Co'.  Versus the US model, the Russian model has a larger muzzle ring diameter (16mm vs. 13mm) and the mortise slot is wider.  Very nice fullered blade with some light sharpening.  Leather scabbard with metal fittings and type 1 metal belt attachment.  Very rare bayonet.

new-sign.gif (938 bytes)  Made by Sesttrojevsk arsenal (Izhevsk) with an "arrow in a triangle" symbol on the bayonet and scabbard. Crossed out 1266 on the crossguard with an etched 4905 on the guard.  Heavily blued handle with excellent wood grips.  Heavily blued blade for use by Finland.  Very nice black painted metal 1st pattern scabbard with some scratches on the bottom with a canvas belt loop.

SWITZERLAND

Made by HS (possibly for Hans Steimer) with Swiss cross underneath.  Nice wood handle held by two rivets with patina overall.  Serial number 58298 on crossguard.  Excellent sawback blade with swelled tip with fuller on one side only.  Very nice metal scabbard with about 80% bluing remaining.

TURKEY

Turkish 1935 FAL Ersatz Double Muzzle Ring Bayonet (Ref3,ABC232,page170) bayonet6-54.jpg (92716 bytes) (closeup) (closeup) Rarity: R2
This was a Turkish solution to getting a bayonet on their FN FAL rifle.  It used a cut-down German WW1 ersatz blade and had a new handle with two muzzle rings to fit the Belgium made FN (FAL) 1960's era rifle.  Excellent black finished handle with serial number 10045.  Very nice fullered blade and black finished metal scabbard.

The Turks modified this 1907 British bayonet by shortening the blades to about 10" (254mm) and metal scabbards were modified to fit the bayonet and a new crossguard was added with a 16.5mm muzzle ring.  Bayonet was made by Sanderson and dated 1916.  Turkish serial number w89 on the crossguard.  Very nice shortened blade.  Very nice metal scabbard.  Uncommon modification.

A very rare short 1895 model was made which looks like a US 1895 Lee model (~10,000 were made but were not accepted by the Russians).  The 7.62mm rifle was produced for Russia and a 6mm Winchester rifle was made for the US.  Very nice wood grips and bottom of crossguard is marked 'Winchester Repeating Arms Co'.  Versus the US model, the Russian model has a larger muzzle ring diameter (16mm vs. 13mm) and the mortise slot is wider.  Very nice fullered blade with some light sharpening.  Leather scabbard with metal fittings and type 1 metal belt attachment.  Very rare bayonet.

Made by Camillus - Becker Knife & Tool.  This is the black & green set designed without wirecutters (scabbard not made with release tab to lock wirecutters in place).  Hard use carbon steel blade with black epoxy coating which was partially serrated, spear shape to penetrate body armor.  All canvas belt attachment w/2 straps around exposed scabbard and 2 straps holding bayonet.  Unissued mint condition.  Set has not been removed from brand new in plastic bag (photos of bayonet outside of bag are for example only).  Designed for the XM8 lightweight assault rifle system that was under development by the US Army from the late 1990s to the early 2000s. It was anticipated that the XM8 would become the Army's new standard infantry rifle but the project was put on hold in mid 2005 and was formally cancelled in October, 2005.  The black and green set is much rarer to find than the standard tan and green standard set.

Marked on left blade ricasso 'Combat USMC' and on the right blade ricasso 'OKC 3S, Ontario, Knife Co'.  Clip point blade with phosphate non-reflective surface.  Excellent handle with nearly 100% original finish remaining.  Excellent blade with nearly 100% original finish, factory edge and no sharpening.  Excellent scabbard and belt frog.

VENEZUELA

Belgian made by FN (Fabrique Nationale) for export to Venezuela, similar to the Belgian 1889 bayonet but has a 17.5mm muzzle ring.  The only marking is a 'N' in a circle or '2' in a diamond just below the  muzzle ring.  Excellent wood grips held by two spanner nuts.  Excellent fullered blade with no sharpening with original cosmoline on blade.  Excellent black painted metal scabbard.  This piece is in excellent, unissued condition.
