bulletnew-sign.gif (938 bytes)   Made by Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co, Solingen (WKC).  Very nice alloy grips with 'RA' (Republic of Argentina) in a circle on the pommel and scabbard.  Argentina crest and serial number has been ground off.  Very nice fullered blade.  Metal scabbard with over 90% finish remaining with old cosmoline overall.

bulletnew-sign.gif (938 bytes) Tube style type C socket with flat blade (sometimes called the 'apple corer' from its shape).  Very nice socket with a 6-digit serial number 297121 on the collar on the end of the handle.  Very nice blade with about 85% blued finish remaining.  Very nice metal scabbard with about 90% blued finish remaining with canvas belt loop.  This bayonet was made for the Argentine IMBEL made FN FAL which was the SAR-48 rifle by Springfield Armory, Inc in the US.

Herder) with Austrian eagle and GF inspection marking on the ricasso.  Regimentally marked 84.R.4756 on the quillion.  Very nice checkered leather grips with leaf spring release.  Very nice shortened sword blade with no sharpening.  Metal scabbard with about 90% black paint remaining.

BELGIUM

bulletVery similar to the French 1866 Chassepot bayonet except that this piece has a more rounded pommel and the leaf spring is secured by a screw versus a rivet.  Marked with inspection marking and 1869 date on the blade ricasso with matching serial number 3764 on the crossguard and scabbard top fitting.  Very nice fullered yataghan blade with some staining and no sharpening.  Excellent leather scabbard with brass fittings.

Belgium 1889 Infantry Bayonet (Ref1,No.2,page17, Ref3,ABC237,page173) Rarity: R3
bullet new-sign.gif (938 bytes)  Nice wood grips held by two spanner nuts with nice finish remaining on the handle.  Fullered blade with staining and light sharpening.  Metal scabbard with nice finish remaining with some dings on the back side.  Matching serial numbers H 5513 on the crossguard and frog stud with B 2869 on the other side of the crossguard.  Brown Czech frog with no markings.  Very scarce bayonet which is hard to find.

bulletWood grips held by two screws with about 70% black paint remaining.  Left side of the pommel has serial number 1403.  Blade with black paint on the first ~1" with staining, wear and rounded tip.  No scabbard.

BRAZIL

Brazilian 1904 Mauser Bayonet (Ref1,No.4,page22, Ref3,ABC368,page251) bayonet1-905.jpg (56746 bytes) (closeup) (closeup) (closeup) Rarity: R2+
bulletMade in Brazil by 'F.P.D.F' (Force Publique du District Federal) and has Brazilian coat of arms stamped on the blade.  Worn wood grips held by two rivets and has a serial number 3164 on the crossguard.  No scabbard.  This was the last yataghan bayonet ever made and was issued to the National Police Force.

CHINA

bulletnew-sign.gif (938 bytes)  Similar to the German AKM bayonet except that the Chinese model does not have a sawback blade or a wire cutter attachment.  Unmarked.  Very nice black plastic handle.  Very nice blade and plastic scabbard which has a belt attachment clip on the back.

Chinese 1980s Special Forces Knife (no reference) chin80knife-police2a.jpg (200509 bytes) Rarity: R3
bullet Rare Chinese state security forces knife.  Has Chinese star and serial number D82985 on blade.  Excellent condition overall and comes with original box from the 1980s.  Listed in 'The Military Knife & Bayonet' by Homer Brett, this unique item was produced in small numbers & most were destroyed by the Chinese government.  The blade is pulled out by pressing the release button near the end of the handle.  The knife is closed by inserting the cap & spring into the knife opening and pushing the front button to release the blade.  It hangs on the belt so the user can easily take it out ready to use.

COLOMBIA

bulletnew-sign.gif (938 bytes)  Very similar to the Belgian 1924/34 bayonet except this model has a shorter mortise slot for export to S. American countries.  Wood grips held by two screws with patina overall.  Crossguard is marked 'R of C' for republic of Colombia with '64' on the other side.  The end of the pommel is marked 7738.  Nice fullered blade with staining.  Nice metal scabbard with very little black painted finish remaining.  Rare bayonet.

bulletNo maker markings on the blade.  Wood grips held by two rivets.  Nice T-backed blade with staining and no sharpening.  Marked with serial number 101179 on the crossguard with regimental number 25.B.933 on the pommel.  Nice brown leather scabbard which is missing its lower fitting.

Danish 1955 M1 Bayonet (Ref1,No.1,page38, Ref3,ABC125,page98) Rarity: R2
bulletnew-sign.gif (938 bytes)  Blade marked FKF over 1955 (Forsvarets Krigsmateriel Forvaltning for Defense War Material Admin.).  Excellent handle with about 90% blued finish remaining.  Excellent fullered blade with about 95% blued finish remaining with no sharpening.  Very nice wood grain fiberglass scabbard with the top fitting marked FKF over 1955.

bulletnew-sign.gif (938 bytes)  This bayonet has a blade similar to the Jungle No. 5 bayonet and a socket hilt similar to the No. 4 series.  Made by Poole with matching serial numbers 324503 on the socket and scabbard.  Very nice fullered bright blade with blued socket and black painted metal scabbard.  Poole made about 366K bayonets from 1949-1953.

FRANCE

bulletnew-sign.gif (938 bytes)  No maker.  Wooden handle with lanyard ring on end.  Brass crossguard is marked with a Navy anchor on one side and has an inspection marking on the other side.  3-sided socket blade with inspection marking near the handle.  The partial sheath is all leather with a belt attachment strap on the end with end missing and missing stitches & separation along the seam.

bulletMarked with the Hungarian shield on the crossguard and scabbard frog stud.  Crossguard marked A-1850.  Nice wood handle with hooked quillion, lanyard ring and later war rifle site.  About 70% bluing remaining on the blade with some light pitting on the tip.  Nice metal scabbard with about 40% green paint remaining.

bulletA rare 1925 MVSN (Milizia Voluntaria Sicurezza National) knife with Truppe Speciali bayonet 4-sided cruciform style blade.  First issued to Colonial Militia Officers, then to musketeers, finally to Italian Libyan Paratroopers during WW2.  Very nice wood grips with MSVN emblem on both sides.  Marked with MSVN on one side of the crossguard and serial number F796 on the other side.  Very nice cruciform blade and metal scabbard with belt loop.

bulletSimilar to the standard type 30 bayonet except that the crossguard is a thick rectangular piece of metal that is rounded off at muzzle ring end.  Made by Toyada Automatic Loom Works.  Very nice slab wood grips which are riveted with a squared off pommel which has a serial number 4358.  Rectangular blued crossguard with rounded muzzle ring.  Very nice blued unfullered slab blade with no sharpening.  Nice blued metal scabbard with a crease on the back side.  Rare model variation.

bulletThe blade is from a Dutch 1895 Cavalry bayonet with a Japanese handle with thin crossguard and muzzle ring. Excellent wood handle held by two rivets with about 75% blued finish remaining.  Excellent double edged unfullered blued blade with about 95% finish remaining.  Matching arsenal markings on the handle and scabbard.  Excellent leather scabbard with leather retaining strap.  This is a very hard bayonet to find especially in this near unissued condition.

NETHERLANDS

Dutch 1871 Beaumont Socket  Bayonet (Ref1,No.2,page145, Ref3,ABC729,page157) Rarity: R2

bulletnew-sign.gif (938 bytes)  Produced by Horster (Germany - 'H' trademark within an oval on back of crossguard) during 1951-52 and is nearly identical to the US M4 model except it reflects higher quality standards.  Very nice burgundy plastic grips held by 2 screws.  Nice blade with about 50% bluing remaining and sharpening.  Nice wood grain pattern on the fiberglass scabbard with canvas belt attachment.

NEW ZEALAND

bulletnew-sign.gif (938 bytes)  1880-81 modified model (called the Artillery 2nd pattern) made by Enfield and dated 9 '81.  Nice hard rubber grips held by 4 rivets with a piece of rubber missing on the left grip.   Serial numbered '27' on the crossguard.  Nice fullered sawback blade with peppering overall and light sharpening.  Very nice leather scabbard with some crazing overall.  Only 2100 were made.

bulletA very rare short 1895 model was made which looks like a US 1895 Lee model (~10,000 were made but were not accepted by the Russians).  The 7.62mm rifle was produced for Russia and a 6mm Winchester rifle was made for the US.  Very nice wood grips and bottom of crossguard is marked 'Winchester Repeating Arms Co'.  Versus the US model, the Russian model has a larger muzzle ring diameter (16mm vs. 13mm) and the mortise slot is wider.  Very nice fullered blade with some light sharpening.  Leather scabbard with metal fittings and type 1 metal belt attachment.  Very rare bayonet.

new-sign.gif (938 bytes)  Made by Camillus - Becker Knife & Tool.  This is the tan & green set designed with wirecutters with wirecutters included in sheath.  Hard use carbon steel blade with black epoxy coating which was partially serrated, spear shape to penetrate body armor.  Early all canvas belt attachment w/Bianchi attachment fastener.  Unissued mint condition in plastic bag (bayonet and scabbard just removed for photos).  Designed for the XM8 lightweight assault rifle system that was under development by the US Army from the late 1990s to the early 2000s. It was anticipated that the XM8 would become the Army's new standard infantry rifle but the project was put on hold in mid 2005 and was formally cancelled in October, 2005.

bulletSolid brass handle and steel crossguard with the press stud in the end of the pommel.  Serial numbered 2243 and a large '1' on the top of brass handle.  Cruciform blade similar to the French 1886 Lebel bayonet.  Nice metal scabbard with no markings and no dents or dings.

VENEZUELA

bulletnew-sign.gif (938 bytes)  Belgian made by FN (Fabrique Nationale) for export to Venezuela, similar to the Belgian 1889 bayonet but has a 17.5mm muzzle ring.  The only marking is a 'N' in a circle or '2' in a diamond just below the  muzzle ring.  Excellent wood grips held by two spanner nuts.  Excellent fullered blade with no sharpening with original cosmoline on blade.  Excellent black painted metal scabbard.  This piece is in excellent, unissued condition.

bulletnew-sign.gif (938 bytes) Marked BT3 or Russian-like characters with '44' on the blade which reads "Factory 44", the name of  the factory, which commemorates the country's year of Liberation.  Made at the Zavodi Crvena Zastava between 1945 and 1952.  Excellent handle with nearly 100% blued finish.  Excellent fullered blade with 100% blued finish.  Excellent metal scabbard with nearly 100% blued finish.  Matching numbers 81758 on crossguard and scabbard.
