I receive many requests for bayonet identification, rarity or value but I can no longer provide these services for free.  You have two options if you would like to determine what your bayonet is, its rarity and/or what it is worth.

  1. I sell a subscription to my reference section that identifies several thousand bayonets with rarities, values, photos and descriptions for either $10 for 1 year or $6 for 6 months memberships.  This option allows you to search the bayonets yourself anytime day or night.  This option is perfect when you have many bayonets to identify at one time or you want access to a reference resource for a longer period of time.  Please go to my home page HOME to complete the online subscription form or you can contact me at

  2. I also will provide a bayonet identification service for $5 for each individual bayonet if you are not interested in a subscription.  Please send me some photos of the bayonet and let me know any noticeable markings and the overall length and blade length.  Once I receive your payment, i will send you the identification of your bayonet, its rarity and its typical retail value in today's market.  Please contact me at for payment details if you are interested.

bulletBayonets, Short Swords & Fighting Knives You Have For Sale:

I am always interested in purchasing rare or unusual bayonets, short swords or fighting knives for my own private collection for resale on my web site.  Please send some photos of your item(s) with a brief description (including any markings you see) to me at with your asking price.  I will not identify your bayonet for you but I will let you know if I am interested and/or what price I can afford to pay.  I typically pay about 60-70% of what your bayonet is retailed at which leaves me a small profit when trying to sell the bayonet over time (months to years) on my web site.  Rare or unusual items bring the best prices and have the best chance of selling in the shortest time period.  Common or pieces in less that VG+ to excellent condition are the hardest to sell and take the longest time to sell.  Selling your item(s) outright gives you slightly less money for your item but is the fastest way to get payment.

If you don't want to sell your item(s) outright since you don't need your money right away or you want to try to get more for the item, you also have the option of selling the bayonet on my web site through consignment.  I charge a fee of 15% of the final selling price.  Since I try to get the most money for your item, it may take a few months to a year to finally complete a sale (especially in these market conditions with excess bayonet supply and limited collector demand).  I will handle all direct communication with the customer including the shipping and payment method and you just need to ship the item(s) once payment is received.  Once the transaction is complete and the customer is keeping the item, I send you your payment.  It is very hard to predict when your item will finally sell but can be from days to months to over a year depending on the condition and rarity of your pieces.  Since I don't take possession of your bayonet, we can always discontinue this arrangement after an agreed period of time.  This consignment option gives you the most money for your item, but takes more time to get payment.
